Project Description

Back for a second year! This summer students ages 10-17 are invited to participate in a free, five-day filmmaking workshop at William S. Hart Ranch and Museum. The first day participants will start off with a private tour of the William S. Hart Museum and then spend the rest of the day learning about theatre and acting from Canyon Theatre Guild. The next four days will be spent creating and editing a short silent film with instructors from CalArts Community Arts Partnership (CAP). Students will have the opportunity to use the latest in filmmaking and editing equipment. Attendance is mandatory for all five workshops.

The Los Angeles County Arts Commission joined with the Parks Department, the William S. Hart Park and Museum, and Fifth District Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich to create this opportunity.  The workshop was taught by instructors from the Canyon Theatre Guild and the CalArts Community Arts Partnership (CAP).  19 children participated in the workshop series.

Workshop dates & times: July 7, 14, 21 and 28 and August 4. 10am to 4pm.
