Since 1964 the Commission has produced a Holiday Celebration in the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion of the Music Center on December 24th from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The program honors the spirit of many cultures and holiday traditions through music, song and dance.
Community and professional choirs, music ensembles, folk and traditional artists, and dance companies perform for an audience in the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion
while the program is broadcast live throughout Southern and Central California on KCET.
Attention Los Angeles County-Based Artists: The Los Angeles County Arts Commission is seeking County-based youth and adult community and professional choirs, dance companies, and music ensembles to perform in the 50th Annual Los Angeles County Holiday Celebration. The Arts Commission encourages all performing groups representing diverse communities, traditions, and performing disciplines to apply. Proposed programming should be suitably themed for a multi-cultural holiday production. All performing groups are paid.
Interested organizations are required to submit an electronic eGRANT application. Click on the animated eGRANT logo on the right to open an application. Applications are due on August 5. Instructions on completing the application and information about the Holiday Celebration application workshop on Tuesday, July 14 are available in the 2009 Application Guidelines, accessible from the link to the right.
