Description

The Marketing Intern will possess an interest in marketing, a desire to explore their creative talents, and have a passion for building a more equitable and inclusive society. The Intern will be open to interacting with a diverse group of people, including people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.  They will be self-motivated, creative, and enjoy working both collaboratively and independently. They will be organized, detail-oriented, a good communicator and time manager, and enjoy planning ahead.   This position will work approximately 15-20 hours a week from July through December. Some flexibility around the hours per week and start/end dates of the position are possible before the start of the Internship, to be determined in discussion between the Intern and Supervisor during the interview process. 

Qualifications

Requirements:  Marketing skills and knowledge of marketing strategies (specific knowledge about social enterprises is a plus, but not required) Research skills Strong written and oral communication skills Social media skills Ability to strategize and plan ahead Driven, inspired, collaborative, and positive Passionate about social justice and community inclusion Not required, but appreciated: Experience with search engine optimization; photography skills

GOAL partners with adults with DD/ID and their support networks to assist them in living more fulfilling lives through educational, vocational and recreational programs such as Visual Arts, Drama, Music Therapy, Cooking, Adult Education, Counseling, Gardening, and more. In addition, we educate thousands of members of the public each year about the abilities of people with disabilities through art shows and other outreach activities.   Everyone who receives services at L.A. GOAL is a “Member,” as in “family member” because we operate like a family by providing caring, lifelong support to 85 Members and their 300 family members/caregivers.
