Do you want to spend your summer helping to coordinate and work the longest running Hip-Hop event in the nation, the world famous Bboy Bgirl Summit?  Use your production, organizing, networking, and social media abilities to help us communicate with artists, taste makers, community leaders, and the community at large to plan, coordinate, and produce Bboy Bgirl Summit 2024 that happens every mid July annually. This is around a 30 hr a week commitment that will work starting in June-September. There is some flexibility with hours. This is a hybrid positition that meets once to twice a week in person, and the remaining hours are out of the office. 
 

Qualifications

This position requires the use of google workspace and the ability to create spreadsheets and documents, and to work in shared folders. You will be required to do some research regarding vendors, food trucks, supplies, etc and help us procure these items. Good communication is a must, as you will be interfacing directly with artists, vendors, media, government businesses, community stakeholders. There will be an element of social media and you will be one of our voices for our instagram and facebook accounts. Promotions is a part of this position, this will include online as well as some in person hand to hand. The ability to be supervised effectively and efficiently is important as we want to help you grow in your understanding and feedback is an important part of this. The ability to work with a team to produce results is also a benefit. A car would be helpful as you may need to help us pickup some items here and there and also attend meetings, and   some promotional opportunities. 
 

Background

No Easy Props is a 501c3 Hip-Hop arts organization. We provide Hip-Hop dance and art programs for youth during and after school as well as programs outside of school that provide teens mentorship and apprenticeship in the areas of Hip-Hop arts, music, dance, creative wellbeing, teen anti violence, how to be a culture keeper, fashion, podcasting, financial literacy, and business start ups. We also have a performance component to our organization and we love to dance! We promote intergenerational learning by hiring elders in our scene and community to help reach and teach youth to pass down tradition, culture, and knowledge. The Bboy Bgirl Summit is our longest running event est. 1994 that brings the community together in celebration of Hip-Hop culture through panels, performances, battles, art showcases, interactive dance cyphers, and art making sessions.
