Project Description

The Community Reentry Center (DOORS) at 3965 South Vermont houses community-based organizations and County departments that provide services to the adult probationers and aid them in rehabilitation and reentry. Artist Olalekan Jeyifous completed the installation of a series of graphic murals in the adult and juvenile waiting rooms in 2019 and 2020. The murals are bold and colorful illustrations that encourage curiosity and reflection from participants and visitors to the space. Interwoven throughout the illustrations are figures and characters, text, icons, and cultural motifs that honor the support, resources, advocacy, and opportunities available to clients, visitors, and the Los Angeles community.
