Project Description

The Child and Family Wellbeing Center was built at the Martin Luther King, Jr. Medical Campus in Los Angeles. The Center will be home to the Departments of Mental Health, Public Health, Health Services, and Child and Family Services. Artist team 120 Gallery, made up of artist Floyd Strickland and studio manager Mitchell Zenarosa, were selected to create a series of paintings and customized wallpaper for the “light well” space of the main lobby and to design two screens for the exterior façade.
All designs were informed by extensive community engagement by the artist and the neighboring King Drew Magnet High School, where the artist attended high school.
