826LA is a nonprofit organization with locations in Mar Vista and Echo Park, a Writers' Room on the campus of Manual Arts High School in South LA, and relationships with more than 100 Los Angeles schools. 826LA's mission is to support students, ages six to eighteen, with their creative and expository writing skills, and to help teachers inspire their students to write.
The 826LA Publication Design Intern will design publications to inspire Los Angeles students to write and share their stories. Projects will include designing and producing books of student writing, outreach tools, and, possibly, product design. By collaborating with 826LA’s Design Manager, the Design Intern will see their work go into production through a hands-on experience that builds crucial skills and supports 826LA’s mission.
