At 826LA, design is an integral part of our brand and our history. Although they are two different entities, the 826LA and Time Travel Mart brand should speak to each other and influence each other. The Store Design Intern will work 30-40 hours a week, between September and November of 2022, primarily focusing on two aspects of design at 826LA’s Time Travel Mart. The first is working to create store related signage, product development, and/or art installations. In addition, the Store Design Intern will be given the opportunity to propose and develop a small standalone project from ideation through final production. This project will need to be completed within the duration of the internship.

Store Design Intern applicants must be proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud software including InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator. Other important requirements for applicants include: ● Access to stable Wi-Fi connectivity plus audio and visual capabilities for virtual meetings ● Attention to detail, time management, flexibility to adjust in the moment, and willingness to learn and grow through practice ● Aspiring and able to work independently while experimenting with your design aesthetic ● Desire to work in an organization with a strong spirit of social justice ● Willingness to be an ambassador for 826LA’s mission ● Completion of a criminal background check (either through Live Scan or can be administered by 826LA) ● Be available 30-40 hours a week Monday–Friday, during the hours of 10 AM–6:30 PM. ● Interest in writing, education, nonprofits, youth development, and/or art education ● Strong communication skills
