In close collaboration with the Artistic and Administrative Directors, the Marketing and Program Intern’s primary project will be assisting with the marketing, educational and production efforts for our upcoming production, “L.A. Real.”

MARKETING
create an "L.A. Real" social media campaign; and other related marketing collateral for “L.A. Real,” and also the company’s Original Theaterworks Digital Collection that represents its 30+ year production history.
EDUCATION
work on the “L.A. Real” study guide/brochure for high school students that explores the production’s related content of early California history, and its contemporary cultural references.
PRODUCTION
as time and schedule allows, fulfill various production tasks for “L.A. Real” as it moves from pre-production to full production. This is a part-time internship working 15-20 hours/week from June through October/November (depending on the start date).

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will be able to take direction and run with it. This requires enthusiasm, clear communication, good time management, and the ability to work well independently. They should have a passion for the performing arts in general, and a desire to learn about the LA arts and culture landscape. They should have good writing skills, be Macintosh proficient, have experience with the Microsoft Office Suite and Google apps. Experience with photo and/or video editing software and graphics programs are highly encouraged. Other assets include marketing and/or community outreach experience; and production planning experience. Interest in Los Angeles history and familiarity with ensemble-based theater and/or theater by communities of color is very helpful. Preference will be given to those applicants with a serious interest in pursuing a career in the performing arts, arts education, arts administration, and/or marketing.
