Able ARTS Work, formerly known as Arts & Services for Disabled, is a private non-profit 501(c)3 organization established in 1982. The primary mission of Able ARTS Work (AAW) is "Love Before Learning. Learn for Life." Based on Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs, our primary vision is to provide life-long learning, community service and vocational opportunities through the creative arts for people with disabilities of all ages in an environment of warmth, encouragement and inclusion.
CREATE AND PRODUCE A RADIO BROADCAST WITH Able ARTS Work MUSICIANS—The summer intern will experience a comprehensive overview and provide critical support for the music program for artists with developmental disabilities.
Intern applicants should be prompt, self-starters that enjoy the challenge of working in an environment where they will be asked to do many varying tasks. Applicants should be interested in radio production and have good musical and hosting instincts. Ability to work as a team (in group settings) and meet deadlines. Interest in music, arts, and working with individuals with developmental disabilities. Ability to perform at a college level in writing, reading and following instructions. Computer skills should include Microsoft Office; familiarity with social media and technology; and have good communication skills. Candidates should be comfortable playing an accompanying instrument, such as a guitar, keyboard and/or ukulele.
