The mission of the Association of California Symphony Orchestras (ACSO) is to provide essential leadership and resources to classical music producers and presenters and encourage and support their artistic, organizational, and fiscal development. ACSO is the largest state orchestra association in the U.S. and offers its members a variety of signature programs, resources, and advocacy tools, including an annual conference that is a premier learning opportunity and draws more than 300 attendees.
The conference and membership intern will play an essential role in preparing for and executing ACSO’s 2019 Annual Conference in Monterey, a signature learning experience for orchestra professionals throughout California. The intern will also work closely with the membership and development manager to prepare for the fall 2019 annual membership renewal campaign and to successfully serve and support ACSO’s members who are made up of orchestras, festivals, choruses, businesses, and individuals.
The most important assets we seek is someone who is flexible enough to work on a small team where everyone wears multiple hats, who is curious and excited to learn new things, and who asks great questions. Additionally, the intern must possess excellent customer service skills, strong written and verbal communication skills, strong researching skills, strong organizational and multi-tasking abilities, and good attention to detail. He/she be comfortable working on Apple computers, be experienced with the Microsoft Office Suite, have the ability to learn new software programs, and have reliable transportation to our office in Downtown Los Angeles. An interest in classical music is a plus.
