Since 1999 Torrance Theatre Company has been committed to providing affordable, professional-quality theatrical productions, and related outreach and educational services to Torrance, and the South Bay. We believe the community becomes stronger through the shared experience of theatre. Through a diverse season covering dramas, comedies, and musicals, the community is inspired, educated, and entertained. Torrance Theatre Company is a program of the Torrance Cultural Services Division.
The production intern will work alongside the producing artistic director in mounting 20th anniversary season launch for the TTC, kicking off with the annual summer musical production at the James Armstrong Theatre; and assist in pre-production for the<br/>upcoming season in our secondary venue at 1316 Cabrillo Ave in the heart of historic downtown Torrance. There will be everything from the occasional clerical duties, to sitting in on auditions, to tackling some social media, to painting a set, to working on the running crew, and everything in between. The intern will have access to every corner of what the Torrance Theatre Company is doing, and have the ability to shape their specific 10-week project to be something that is rooted in their own interests and passion.
The Torrance Theatre Company is looking for someone who is organized, proactive, enthusiastic, and ready for a fast-paced and exciting summer. Experience in any of the following production areas is helpful: stage management, scenic construction, production running crew, rigging, audio, or lighting. The successful candidate will possess solid word-processing skills (Microsoft Word), and be able to manage other programs (Outlook, Excel, Power Point), or the mac equivolent. Experience in social media platforms is helpful. A valid California driver's license, and the ability to lift 25 lbs.
