The mission of the dA Center for the Arts, a diverse, multi-discipline, non-profit organization is to enhance the quality of life for the greater community of Pomona by educating and providing opportunities to experience, appreciate and support the arts.
The dA Center for the Arts is seeking an Artbridge Outreach Education Intern who will be an important member of dA’s team to help lead The Pomona Youth Arts & Culture Leadership Program (PYACLP ) as well as other dA Artbridge Outreach educational programs. The dA Artbridge Outreach Arts Education Intern’s primary focus will be to organize and lead this 15 week program designed to educate & empower the voice of the future with skills to navigate the 21st Century. PYACLP will include tours of museums and art workshops, as well as methods of research, interviews with legendary LA Muralist, professional skills for art exhibition prep and installation, knowledge of public transportation system , community engagement, advocacy, capacity building and data arts. The intern will have a hands-on opportunity to gain an in-depth understanding of daily operations while exercising and building communication skills, developing cultural awareness, and establishing professional contacts. This intern will work about 15 hours a week from August through March, and work remotely part of the time.
Excellent computer and communication skills are required and an art history, studio art, or arts education background is preferred.Bilingual in English and Spanish is helpful but not required.
