Description

The Development Intern will learn the fundamentals of fundraising and administration in a mid-sized world-renowned dance company. Duties will include: (1) coordinate individual giving initiatives (direct mail, online, events), (2) draft grant applications and reports, and (3) facilitate development communications, correspondence, and record-keeping. The Intern will have the opportunity to interact with DIAVOLO’s professional staff, thereby gaining exposure to their diverse responsibilities and learning about the multitude of career options available in the performing arts.

Qualifications

Desired applicant should have strong organization and communication skills. S/he should be a “self-starter” who is motivated, conscientious, dependable, and an adaptable team player with a genuine interest in the arts. Passion for dance is a plus. Excellent writing and editing skills are highly desirable. <br/><br/>Pre-requisites include proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and social media (e.g.- YouTube, Facebook, etc). Candidates should desire a position during normal business hours, usually 9 AM to 5 PM, with occasional schedule adjustment for attendance at company events, on evenings and weekends, that will afford them access and exposure to all areas of arts administration.
