Founded in 2007, Ebony Repertory Theatre (ERT) is the first African-American Professional Equity theater company in Los Angeles and the resident company and operator of the Nate Holden Performing Arts Center. ERT's mission is to create, develop, nurture and sustain a world-class professional theater rooted in the experience of the African Diaspora and shaped by a dynamic perspective that incorporates an understanding of, and respect for, the unique African-American journey to freedom.
Social Media Intern, join Ebony Repertory Theatre, and help distribute our 2020-21 season to thousands of new audience members. You will be active in the design of our new brochure and marketing tools. If you are an organized self-starter and a multi-tasker with a can-do attitude and the ability to get the job done, this is the job for you. You will take part in all aspects of managing a small nonprofit, including answering phones, filing, managing data, and interacting with theater patrons. You will research social media engines that match our profile for potential audiences. You will design and develop a social media distribution calendar for the marketing of the organization's upcoming season. This will be a remote position working about 30 hours a week from July through November.
The successful candidate must be knowledgeable in Microsoft Office, Excel, Power point, social media strategies and platforms. They must possess excellent written communication, verbal communication, and research skills. The intern must have a professional demeanor both in person and over the phone, initiative to take the next step, ability to meet deadlines, and tact in how they interact with the public. It is extremely important that they have an ability to multi-task and work with diverse personalities. They must maintain an oath of confidentiality during and after this internship. A car is required, valid driver's license, and proof of auto insurance.
