Education Through Music-Los Angeles (ETM-LA) is a non-profit whose mission is to provide and promote the integration of music into the curricula of disadvantaged schools in order to enhance students' academic performance and creative and general development. ETM-LA is dedicated to providing disadvantaged LA County schools with quality, comprehensive, sequential and standards-based music education as part of the core curriculum for every child.
The Program & Operations Intern will work with the Education Through Music-Los Angeles staff to facilitate the processing and management of program evaluation data. The intern will manage a music instrument inventory database, organize professional development materials, and collect data from student assessments. The intern will also assist with operations, including finance, technology, and general administration.
The intern should display an earnest interest in arts education and must be highly organized, detail-oriented, and dependable. Interest in learning about database creation and management as well as other software is favorable for this position. Basic computer skills, such as Excel and Word, will be necessary for program evaluation work. It is strongly preferred that the intern has his/her own vehicle in order to successfully fulfill the duties of this position. A positive attitude, motivation, and desire to learn about music education in Los Angeles are also a must.
