ENCORE is a non-profit educational theatre company that seeks to build community and transform lives by providing high quality, intensive musical and theatre training, as well as performances in the underserved South Bay and Harbor areas. We produce 4 mainstage musicals each year, along with a multitude of camps, workshops and classes for youth and adults.

The Marketing/Development Intern will work with both our Executive Director and our Director of Marketing and Development to implement both a marketing plan and a fundraising plan for our 2019-20 season. She/he will help create original content for both print and online collateral, social media, and email campaigns, and solicit funds and items for our fundraiser events. The ideal candidate is someone who is not afraid to talk to people, not afraid to ask for things, and who has expertise in using Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher, and PowerPoint and must have excellent oral and written communication skills.


The successful candidate will be extremely organized and have advanced skills in graphic design and desktop publishing, as well as the ability to work independently to a strict timeline. Preference will be given to someone with both marketing and development experience. Must have excellent oral and written English communication skills and be comfortable talking on the phone with vendors, donors, and sponsors. The intern will need to be comfortable with Microsoft Office products, as well as learning new software programs as s/he will be helping to implement a donor management system. Social Media marketing skills are a must.
