The mission of Glendale Arts is to integrate the arts into the identity, growth, and economic vitality of the City of Glendale by presenting programming and creating partnerships that benefit youth, patrons, artists, organizations, and businesses in the community and at the Alex Theatre.
The Special Events Intern will work with our team to plan, promote and execute the Alex Theatre’s 95 Birthday event. You will draft marketing and social media content and calendars, oversee and ensure the delivery of materials, research new advertising/marketing opportunities, assist with event planning and logistics, and build relationships with businesses, artists, vendors, and more. This internship will work remotely part time about 30 hours a week, from July through December.
*Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.*Proficiency of the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator).*Must be detail-oriented, organized, and have excellent verbal and written communication skills.*Ability to take direction, work independently, multitask, and adapt to change. Must be able to commit to a work schedule of 40 hours per week and be present through the event date.*Knowledge of WordPress or similar content management system is a plus.*Majoring in Arts Management, Marketing or Communications is preferred, but not required.
