Description

Greenway's Marketing and Community Engagement Intern will work closely with Natalie Iturbe Jackson, Greenway's Marketing Manager on a variety of marketing projects for Greenway Arts Alliance and the Melrose Trading Post (MTP.) The intern will be profiling, documenting and promoting the local artists who perform at MTP, as well as the artists who are small business owners using MTP as a platform from which to market and promote their work.   The Intern will assist our team with social media (TikTok in particular), customer service and communications with our patrons, as well as support our media content by taking photos and videos of the market. The Intern will also be supporting Melrose Mornings, our family programming, and the Melrose Trading Post Gift Shop, our fundraising outreach shop. This position will work approximately 15-20 hours a week from June 2024 through February 2025.  

Qualifications

The Marketing and Community Engagement Intern will possess strong written and oral communication skills and should be comfortable with working with a diversity of people. This candidate is self-motivated and flexible in performing a myriad of tasks. They should have a desire to learn the basics of Marketing and Community Engagement. The intern should be fluent with computers (PC/Mac), Microsoft Office, Google Docs, Internet Research and online social networking. Adobe Software knowledge, graphic design & video editing skills, and prior marketing, event organizing & promotion experience is a plus. 

Background

Since 1997, Greenway Arts Alliance has been connecting communities through performing arts, educational programs, and local commerce. Our model funds holistic arts education programming in public schools through a community market, the Melrose Trading Post. The Melrose Trading Post, is a cultural destination for thousands of shoppers every Sunday that funds Greenway Institute for the Arts, a flourishing arts program at Fairfax High School, and Greenway Court Theatre, a home for works from emerging and established artists.
