The Harmony Project uses the power of music to engage, empower, and foster the positive development of low-income youth, ages 6-18. Our mission is unique in that we commit to students for their entire childhood (k-12), providing year-round music instruction and orchestra playing, consistent and positive adult and peer mentors, family support, and college incentives.
The Data & Evaluation Intern will work directly with The Harmony Project’s Chief Program Officer and Data Manager to manage an evaluation tool to study long-term impact on program participants. The intern will also assist in the data collection and analysis of Harmony Project’s programs across LA County (14 program sites). Data and Evaluation results will be used for all Harmony Project written materials including funder reports, grant proposals, and strategic planning.
Ideally, the Data & Evaluation Intern will have strong written and verbal communication skills; attention to detail; ability to manage multiple projects and comply with deadlines. The ideal candidate will also possess creativity, enthusiasm for learning, and an outgoing, friendly demeanor. The ability to work independently as well as with staff, volunteers, students, and the general public is essential. Computer proficiency, particularly in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Google Docs are necessary. Database experience, a musical background, fluency in Spanish, and an interest in research and evaluation are all highly desired but not required.
