The Harmony Project uses the power of music to engage, empower, and foster the positive development of low-income youth, ages 6-18. Our mission is unique in that we commit to students for their entire childhood (k-12), providing year-round music instruction and orchestra playing, consistent and positive adult and peer mentors, family support, and college incentives.
The Social Media and Development Intern will assist in the marketing and fundraising goals of The Harmony Project. Duties will include assisting Executive Staff and the Development team members with creating marketing and social media content, communicating with our online audience, as well as aiding in research for prospective funding opportunities. The intern will also assist with photographing program happenings.
Ideally, the Social Media & Development Intern will have strong written and verbal communication skills; attention to detail; ability to manage multiple projects and comply with deadlines. The ideal candidate will also possess creativity, enthusiasm for learning, and an outgoing, friendly demeanor. The ability to work independently as well as with staff, volunteers, students, and the general public is essential. Computer proficiency, particularly in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Google Docs are necessary. Database experience, a musical background, fluency in Spanish, and an interest in communications/marketing/development are all highly desired but not required.
