Independent Shakespeare Co. is a professional theater company known for our "freewheeling irreverence and classical precision" (LA Times). The Virtual Production Intern will work closely with the production team and ISC staff on our virtual Shakespeare Festival in August and September as well as a planned virtual production for the fall. The intern will work closely with the Artistic Director to creatively utilize new media and research the logistics of implementing them. The intern will contribute artistically to these virtual productions in many ways, including: editing videos and photographs, assisting in creating online content, collaborating on scripted elements, and researching the myriad new ways theaters are responding to shifting their work to a digital space. The intern will also help with the technical aspects of filming remotely, implementation of a live-stream roll-out, and coordinating between various members of the production team. Insofar as it is in-person filming is possible, the Intern will also help on set as part of the core production team, provided public health allows for small working groups to assemble and we are able to fulfill all public health guidelines, such as frequent testing for the coronavirus. This internship will have a concentrated workload in July and the beginning of September, with increased leniency and flexibility stretching through the remainder of the fall semester.”
