The Industry creates experimental productions that expand the traditional definition of opera. By merging media and through interdisciplinary collaborations, we produce works that inspire new audiences for the art form. We believe that opera can be emergent and responsive to new perspectives and voices in contemporary culture. The Industry serves as an incubator for new talent and for artists predominantly based in Los Angeles.
The Production Intern will work closely with the Executive Director, Elizabeth Cline, and Production Manager, Ash Nichols, with production and administrative projects to support the development and implementation of our 2019 world premiere production Sweet Land (working title).
* Production Intern must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and must also be comfortable using email, scheduling, and taking notes.
* We are looking for an Intern who is creative and can think on their feet, work independently, meet deadlines, take direction, multitask, and adapt to quickly changing priorities.
* It is not necessary to be proficient or even to have an interest in opera. Rather, The Industry is interested in working with someone who loves the arts, is open-minded, and gets excited about doing things in new and innovative ways.
