Inland Valley Repertory Theatre (IVRT) is a nonprofit theatre arts organization, performing plays and musicals during the week in Claremont. IVRT partners with businesses and nonprofits to create inspiring theatre for our community and to foster the talents of aspiring artists of all ages.
IVRT’s 2019 Educational Outreach Intern will have a hands-on experience assisting with administration of the Camp IVRT summer musical theatre workshop for elementary and middle-school aged children. You will work with a creative team of professional teaching artists and high school age teaching assistants who teach singing, dancing and acting to the campers, concluding with a recital. The atmosphere is creative, nurturing and fun, and there you will assist with overseeing all aspects of the camp, from preparations to evaluation.
The intern candidate should possess outstanding written and oral communication skills, an outgoing personality, patience, and the ability to communicate effectively and persuasively with both children and adults. Microsoft Office proficiency (word, excel) is desirable. Social media and photography skills, and familiarity with theatrical terminology a plus. Ideally, the applicant will have a general understanding of theatre production and be enthusiastic, energetic, and dependable.
