Invertigo Dance Theatre is a contemporary dance company, creating thought-provoking programming that tells compelling stories, promotes artistic and physical empowerment, utilizes diversity in collaboration, and is accessible to communities that might not otherwise find joy in dance. In addition to making performances culturally and financially accessible, their Dancing Through Parkinson's and Invert/ED community programs offer classes and workshops to dancers of all ages and abilities.
The Marketing & Development Intern will be an important member of our small staff and will help make our performances and fundraising campaigns successful. The intern will see all aspects of how a lively performing arts organization functions on a daily basis. Invertigo’s staff will work with the intern to make this a great internship and provide the kind of experiences that will be interesting and helpful to the intern. Most of the intern’s work will be between 9am-6pm, Monday-Friday, at the Invertigo office, with some local travel to events or performances. We may ask the intern to help with a few evening or weekend events. Because the Intern will be present at rehearsals and events, some kind of reliable transportation is very important. This can be public transportation as long as the intern is adept at navigating the routes and reliably arrives on time.
The ideal intern will be able to take direction on projects and run with them. This requires enthusiasm, clear communication, good time management, and the ability to work well independently. This project will require excellent organizational thinking and the ability to quickly learn or figure out a variety of technology platforms.

Desired qualifications include: interest or background in dance, performing arts, and/or marketing; excellent writing skills, especially professional writing; experience marketing an organization or event through social media; curiosity and an inquisitive mind; self motivated, the ability to work independently, as well as working in a collaborative and professional manner with a wide range of team members.
