LACO celebrates historical masterworks and champions contemporary composers. The Orchestra presents five different concert series, education and community engagement programs and several special events, reaching more than 25,000 listeners annually throughout greater L.A. LACO is committed to fostering strong arts leaders by helping them develop the necessary skills to succeed in a career in the arts through personal mentorship and invaluable professional work experience.
The LACO marketing internship offers opportunities to gain a foundation in nonprofit arts management, with an emphasis on marketing, by assisting with the assembly of the Orchestra's season program books, e-marketing and social media campaigns, and by promoting the College All-Access Pass program.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills required; flexibility; ability to prioritize and be organized; adept at meeting deadlines; strong ethos of customer service and teamwork; fluency in Word and Excel; familiarity with database work and internet research. The preferred candidate will have some background in music, since the program book project will require a familiarity with composers, repertoire and music terminology.
