LACO celebrates historical masterworks and champions contemporary composers. The Orchestra presents five different concert series, education and community engagement programs and several special events, reaching more than 25,000 listeners annually throughout greater L.A. LACO is committed to fostering strong arts leaders by helping them develop the necessary skills to succeed in a career in the arts through personal mentorship and invaluable professional work experience.
The LACO production internship offers opportunities to gain a foundation in nonprofit arts management, with an emphasis on production and artistic administration through executing the upcoming season's musician, guest artist, instrument rental and vendor contracts. The intern will also assist with education and community initiatives and in the music library.
Due to the nature of this intern project, candidates are required to have a background in music; excellent verbal and written communication skills; respect for confidentiality and discretion; ability to prioritize and be organized; success in meeting deadlines; strong customer service ability; professional demeanor and ability to work with a wide range of personality types; fluency in Word and Excel; familiarity with database work and internet research; a desire to learn.
