The mission of the LAJS is to perform orchestral works of well known as well as not commonly recognized Jewish composers; establish opportunities for the presentation of new compositions by Jewish artists; serve as a professional resource for aspiring Jewish and non-Jewish musicians; act as an educational medium for Jewish music and composers; and provide educational opportunities for diverse populations of school-age children. The LAJS was founded in 1994 by Dr. Noreen Green.
The Los Angeles Jewish Symphony is seeking an energetic, personable intern to assist in the event production and marketing a concert entitled HARMONY AND FRIENDSHIP, to be performed at Disney Hall in collaboration with the Korean-American Musicians' Association. The intern must have excellent organizational skills, familiarity with standard Microsoft programs, social media and graphics software, and an interest in arts marketing and promotion. Love of music (as well as any musical experience) is a plus.
The intern should have some knowledge of regular office tasks and workflow, be interested in event coordination, be a team player and have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Essential skills include: knowledge of standard Microsoft programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and facility in employing social media (Facebook, Instagram and Twitter). Expertise with Photoshop, Publisher and other graphics software is also required. Video editing skills are desirable but not required.
