Led by visionary Artistic Director Grant Gershon, the 100 professional singers who comprise the Los Angeles Master Chorale combine a sublime mastery of the art form with a passion for adventurous programming and are considered by many to be the country's leading vocal ensemble. In addition to presenting its own concert season in Walt Disney Concert Hall, the Master Chorale engages 5,000 youth and their families each year through its award-winning music education and outreach programs.
The Music Library Intern will have a great opportunity to expand their knowledge of the choral music repertoire and gain experience working for a professional vocal ensemble. The intern will work with the Los Angeles Master Chorale’s artistic and production department to create a digital, searchable database of the scores in the LA Master Chorale music library. Additionally, they will provide support to the Chief of Production and Production Manager for the LA Master Chorale’s performances at the Hollywood Bowl during the summer.
The ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented and self-starter, who is organized, responsible, and loves music. They should have strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, comfortable using a PC, know how to read music, and have good research skills. Basic skills in Word, Outlook, able to take direction, and work independently are also requirements to this position.
