The Programs and Communications Intern will work approximately 32-hours per week between June and September 2021. They will collaborate with Program staff and administrators to execute communications including, but not limited to eblasts, printed materials, electronic materials and collateral. While in an environment designed for learning, the intern will develop their skills in several areas of nonprofit arts administration while providing critical support within Development/Fundraising, Communications, and Program Design. Individuals who value high-quality arts education, especially for under-represented youth, will be highly successful in this role and will make a noticeable impact on LAMusArt’s reach throughout LA’s Eastside.
Applicant should have a keen interest for the arts and see value in arts education Some experience or knowledge of music, art, dance or theatre programs Interest in working with children/adolescents ages 7 to 15 is a must Strong written and oral communication skills Familiarity with social media tools Familiarity with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator or Canva preferred Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred, but not required
LAMusArt is located in the heart of LA’s Eastside and has been a cornerstone for arts education since 1945. The organization is centered in the culturally rich community of East Los Angeles and is a haven for learning in Music, Art, Dance and Drama for all, primarily K-12 youth.
