Since its first production in 1986, LA Opera has rapidly become one of the four largest opera companies in the nation, renowned for its innovative productions of classical and contemporary operas. Under the leadership of Placido Domingo, Eli and Edythe Broad, James Conlon (General Director), Richard Seaver (Music Director), and Christopher Koelsch (President & CEO), LA Opera has developed an aesthetic unique Los Angeles, melding influences from cultural and entertainment industries with opera.
Under the guidance of the Marketing and Advertising Manager the intern will gain an inside look of how a performing arts entity brands itself, cultivates, engages, and grows an audience, while selling specific productions to specific targets. The Marketing Intern will learn the processes for planning and placing advertisements, researching markets, and tracking expenditures. The intern will create a marketing strategy and craft talking points in order to promote LA Opera Off Grand productions to potential advertisers and partners and may also assist in community events where LA Opera has a Marketing presence.
Comfortable in social situations and interacting with members of the public at various events (must be able to represent LA Opera). Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. for event coordination and set up. Ability to use a PC and iPad. Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, Facebook, YouTube, and Google. Evening and Weekend hours may be required.
