The Lula Washington Contemporary Dance Foundation was founded in 1980 to provide a creative outlet for minority dance artists in South Los Angeles and to build a world class, professional, contemporary modern dance company that uplifts the human condition through dance. Our educational mission is to create a place in the inner city where young dancers can learn the art of dance; launch careers in dance and learn skills needed to enrich their lives and become successful citizens.
This job is for someone who will work as a right hand to the Executive Director, and help him with all of the paperwork and office / clerical needs that are required to carry out projects that can move the organization forward or strengthen its infrastructure. This is a job for someone who wants to help improve the condition of the organization via administrative and executive leadership.
A high Grade Point Average is a must. The intern needs to be an exceptional writer who is smart, fast in doing work, and eager to learn and grow and help. We want a candidate who is businesslike and willing to do everything from the most basic clerical office grunt work, to the most advanced arts management requirements.
