The Lula Washington Contemporary Dance Foundation was founded in 1980 to provide a creative outlet for minority dance artists in South Los Angeles and to build a world class, professional, contemporary modern dance company that uplifts the human condition through dance. Our educational mission is to create a place in the inner city where young dancers can learn the art of dance; launch careers in dance and learn skills needed to enrich their lives and become successful citizens.

We are looking for an Intern to assist in facilitating our summer dance intensive. The intern will: register students; answer phones; check emails send emails; do data input; and help coordinate dance classes and field trips. The intern will write and distribute a weekly activities update for students & Parents; and help design and produce the final dance showcase at the end of summer. Administrative and clerical support will be the focus, but we are also interested in interns who also teach dance,


Looking for students who can multi-task; be comfoprtable wiht excel and word. Should have skills to create basic flyers. Should have good organizational skills and use the internet and social media for both research and for marketing and outreadh. Good writing skills is a must. Should want to learn basic budgeting and be ready to learn it. Be interested in programming and event management.
