Description

The Materials & Applications Public Programs Intern will assist the Director and staff with public-facing programming and communication support, as well as internal administrative and organizational work:

  1. producing KGAP 96.7 radio broadcast in collaboration with Dublab and Lookout FM with our radio team
  2. assist in public programming (concept, coordinating, communications etc) for Figure’s Veil Craft installation and program series to open in January 2021
  3. curatorial assistance in interdisciplinary and multi-modal program on Ecologies of Care towards summer 2021
  4. assisting with end of year fundraising
  5. production of annual report with Executive Director and Program Manager.

The intern will assist the M&A team in planning and coordinating with participants in upcoming programs, including artists, architects, performers, and outside experts, and will help broadcast and communicate the events by managing mailing lists and social media content. The Public Program Intern will work closely with our current Program Manager in organizing, coordinating, and executing tasks related to M&A’s programming and operations. This is a part time remote internship working about 15 hours a week from September to March.

Qualifications

The intern has a interest in contemporary art and architectural practices, is highly motivated, entrepreneurial, and self-starting, enjoys working with architects and artist teams, and is willing to expand their understanding of critical practices in architecture. They seek experience in arts administration and non-profit work, has leadership attributes with an ability to work independently, or with a variety of constituents, including non-profit boards and practicing architects and artists, has strong interpersonal and written communication skills, and is proficient with social media platforms
