The Development Intern will have the exciting opportunity to be a part a thriving, professional, counter-conventional orchestra based in Pasadena through planning special events, caring for donors, and generally support the fundraising department. This intern will play an important role in event planning and coordination for MUSE/IQUES donor/membership recognition events, as well as other functions like donor care and annual fund campaigns. The intern will collaborate with the EVP, Development and Communications, the Development Manager, and Membership Manager to support logistics and planning of these events which take place several times a year. The intern will also participate in researching and soliciting sponsors, aiding the audience experience, coordinating admin, and other logistics. This is a great opportunity for anyone interested in learning how to support relationships between businesses, donors and arts organizations to create a thriving civic life and bring the gift of music to underserved audiences and those who need it most . This position will work at least 15-20 hrs/week, with the goal to complete 400 hours by March 1, 2022.

MUSE/IQUE is seeking a reliable, self-starting intern with honesty, integrity, and curiosity. Successful candidates must have good critical thinking skills and pay great attention to detail, have a deep desire to learn and a strong sense of initiative, work well under pressure, and are independent problem-solvers who can also work with multiple priorities as a part of a team under tight deadlines.  The intern must have strong written and oral communication skills with a comfortable phone manner, as well as strong organizational and project management skills. Computer literacy is required (including all Microsoft Office programs, Zoom and Google Drive). No prior knowledge of CRM databases is required, but strong candidates will want to receive training in this area.  If in-person events resume, the intern must be available to work some evening and weekend hours and must have a reliable form of transportation and current driver’s license. Business parking and mileage will be reimbursed.
