Description

The Education intern will provide support to the Associate Director of School Programs and collaborate to produce the Arts Integration Partnerships (AIP) Program. AIP consists of Music Center teaching artists working with classrooms to empower student creativity and develop their artistic, workforce and life skills. AIP deepens learning across the curriculum in collaboration with classroom teachers by combining dance, music, theatre visual and media arts with content areas including English Language Arts, history, science and social emotional learning for students of all ages and abilities. Duties include assisting with digital content creation and refinement, for online delivery of the AIP program for students for LA County schools. In addition to online content preparation, responsibilities include related data entry; follow-up tasks to track enrollment information; communication with school partners and Music Center teaching artists and staff; compiling/editing instructional materials for publications/distribution; ensuring the smooth running of the workshops and other activities; summarizing data from sessions and evaluation materials, and providing general support to the Associate Director of School Programs and Music Center Education department staff. This is a fully remote position with flexible hours from August through February.

Qualifications

Familiarity with Windows and knowledge of MS Word and Excel are essential. Experience and skills in editing, formatting and publishing materials is preferred. Problem-solving and organizational skills are required, as well as the ability to take initiative in carrying out responsibilities with professionalism. The Music Center requests an enthusiastic and detail-oriented individual who is eager to aid classroom teachers in their professional development in the arts via our Summer Arts Studio for Educators setting. An interest in arts education and/or performing arts administration is a plus.
