The Grand Park Marketing Intern will build and implement a marketing strategy for our Grand Park Lunch à la Park Food Trucks program under the guidance and supervision of the Grand Park Marketing Manager. Lunch à la Park Food Trucks provides a service to the downtown Los Angeles community by increasing lunch options through a variety of food trucks stationed in the park three days a week. The program also furthers the park’s work to celebrate Los Angeles by giving an opportunity to the creative culinary food truck community to connect with new audiences. Furthermore, Lunch à la Park supports Los Angeles small business owners through this regular sales platform. The COVID19 pandemic has made opportunities like these even more critical for small businesses and their employees. This campaign will fit into the overall marketing goals for Grand Park by helping to generate revenue through increase use of the Food Truck program. The intern will create a timeline and tactics for the campaign which will unfold in the fall or early spring of 2021. The project will rebuild the brand identity of the program and jump start awareness by creating promotional materials aimed towards the downtown Los Angeles community. They will design this campaign with the realities and challenges of COVID19 top of mind for LA communities. The intern will also provide general support to the Grand Park Marketing team for all programs including but not limited to Grand Park’s Dia de los Muertos, Grand Park Winter Glow, Grand Park + The Music Center’s N.Y.E.L.A. Grand Park programs and marketing are living through a period of transition. Due to COVID19 there has been shift of many programs to digital, some entirely and some in combination with live events once the County Public Health Department permits them. This will allow for the marketing intern to observe the arts in flux, to gain skills in both digital and live event marketing and to be part of a team that is reshaping what it means to be a public space in a time of social distancing. This position has flexible hours and will work remotely full time starting in September.
Qualified candidates will possess a creative mindset and readiness to collaborate in a team environment. Problem-solving and organizational skills are required, as well as the ability to take initiative in carrying out responsibilities with professionalism. Strong candidates will also have an interest in marketing, concise writing skills, photography experience, familiarity with social media with a focus on Facebook and Instagram and be able to manage a small program budget. Knowledge of Adobe PDF and Adobe Creative Plus software are preferred but not required.
