The MAP Social Media Development intern will assist with the design and execution of social media campaigns of our music events campaigns, create weekly and monthly editorial calendars to promote MAP on various social media websites, create and distribute content such as the infographics, videos, and press releases on social media and traditional news outlets, track social media engagement to identify high-performing ideas and campaigns such as the MAP virtual Jazz Series, MasterClass Mentors & Masters series and Young Artists Spotlight, for scalability and support the development team at live and online social justice events and conversations. This position will work approximately 20 hours per week from June to November 2021, supporting the digital media staff to develop and implement diverse outreach and promotional campaigns to boost brand engagement and increase the organization’s arts programming for various events.


The ideal Social Media Development Intern will have an in-depth knowledge of various social media platforms. They should also be comfortable creating and managing multiple social media accounts and developing content to inform, educate, and engage the brand’s audience to increase awareness, boost traffic, to achieve development goals.

An exceptional candidate will have a working knowledge of the major content management systems and social media analytics, be experienced in running targeted ads on social media sites, and know how to use graphic design tools like Canvas, Adobe Photoshop, and/or Illustrator.


Since 2015, over 10,000 students, parents, and community members have participated in Musicians at Play's core programs of Professional Community Concerts and music education programs such as Artists in Schools, Instrumental and Choir programs, and an after school Youth Orchestra program, serving over 1500 youth annually in underserved, marginalized underserved communities of Los Angeles.
