The Road Theatre Company's mission is to produce, support and nurture new plays in both of our theaters: the historic Lankershim Arts Center and the NoHo Senior Artists Colony in North Hollywood. The highlight of our season is the Summer Playwrights Festival, an annual celebration of new work which is now in its ninth year and brings together playwrights, directors and actors from around the country for staged readings of 38 plays in 8 days to be shared with growing Los Angeles audiences.
The Intern will create content for our festival website, playwright interviews, program information, press releases, cast lists, maintain rehearsal schedule, update playwrights and directors on festival progress and due dates, and other writing tasks associated with the festival. If the Intern possess graphic skills, then they will also create the festival program art and our signature festival poster. Additionally, since the festival will now be all online, the intern will assist producers during the broadcast of the festival. This position is full time to start at the end of July through the beginning of October, and will be part time on site and part time remote.
Meticulous attention to detail, great positive attitude, strong organizational and administrative skills (or interest), great phone and email etiquette, computer versed, ability to work under a deadline with grace and skill, strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to work evenings as well as days, ability to follow-through and be a team player. Intern will need to provide their own car for transportation to and from the workspace and performance venues. (Our new home at the NoHo Senior Arts Colony and our current home at the Lankershim Arts Center)
