The Robey’s mission is to foster a community of artists whose purpose is to develop and produce plays written about the global Black experience.
The Robey Theatre Company is a nonprofit theatre arts organization located in historic DTLA inside the Los Angeles Theater Center (On Spring Street near 5th Street). Therefore, the Production Intern must be able to travel to and from the office, with no restrictions.
The Production Intern will work directly with Robey's CEO and Producing Artistic Director, Ben Guillory to produce the 2019 Paul Robeson Theatre Festival. The Intern must be able to work some Weekends, should be flexible and maintain professionalism, at all times. Having a sense of humor and the ability to work with creatives, is a plus.
The following is a listing of interests, skills and knowledge the ideal candidate will possess for the Production Intern position:
-must be able to travel to Downtown LA to work, daily;
-must be professional and have an excellent work ethic;
-must be competent in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Power Point, and Publisher, Adobe Applications;
-must be able to operate office equipment including copying machines, computers, printers, and scanner, efficiently;
-must be able to multitask and assume responsibility for his/her assigned tasks;
-must be able to take directions and work well in both a team and independently;
-must be detail oriented and have excellent research skills;
-experience or interest theater arts is desirable, but not required.
