Description

The Public Programs department at the Skirball Cultural Center presents over 100 public events per year focusing on music, film, lectures, classes for adults.  Partnering with our fall/winter museum exhibition schedule, we will present a variety of exciting programs that will both entertain and engage audiences.  Individuals looking to learn the ropes of how a public program goes from an idea to reality and discover the wide array of public engagement that exists in the museum and cultural center fields should apply!  We're looking for an intern who has an interest in learning more about producing events, loves minding the details, enjoys working with the public, and is excited to gain experience in arts and event programming! This position will work 15-20 hours a week and run from September 2023 to February 2024. 

Qualifications

•Work schedule will be approximately 15-20 hours per week as determined by events calendar for a total of 400 internship hours between September 2023 & February 2024. • Candidates should be motivated, organized, and adaptable to working in a fast-paced creative environment. • Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, database experience, internet research, and accurate typing) are required. • In-person availability for event coverage during the fall/winter semester will be required. Weekday work hours will be adjusted accordingly for time spent working weekend and/or evening programs and every effort will be made to work with class schedules. • A passion for the arts and previous event production experience is preferred but not required.
