The mission of Tierra del Sol Foundation (Tierra) is to support the empowerment of artists with disabilities to gain community roles via teaching, mentoring, exhibition, sales, and ultimately a path to specialty art careers.
Tierra is seeking an Art Event Planning Intern who will help coordinate, plan, and execute community art workshops. These workshops will be held remotely, via platforms such as Zoom, until it is safe to hold in-person events. These events are critical to achieving Tierra’s mission to have all community members contribute to the strengths and assets for the common good; As adults with developmental disabilities create art alongside their non-disabled peers, participants envision the positive impact of a fully-inclusive society. This position will start in August and end in March, averaging about 15 hours a week.
Tierra is looking for someone who has a passion for art and social justice, is self-motivated, can work independently or collaboratively, is able to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment, and has a sincere desire to help others be successful.
