Founded in 1970 by a group of pioneering and independent filmmakers, Visual Communications (VC) has evolved from being the first Asian American media arts organization dedicated to creating accurate and sensitive portrayals of Asian Americans to becoming an artistic development institute for Asian American media creators. Visual Communications' mission is to develop and support the voices of Asian American & Pacific Islander filmmakers and media arts.
The Marketing & Social Media Associate will work with the Communications & Branding Manager to prepare and develop marketing and social media campaigns related to VC programming and the upcoming Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival. The Associate will assist with social media posts, scheduling, and content creation. Selected intern will work 15-20 hours a week which consists of a hybrid program that includes remote work and in-person work (if safely possible). This position will work from August through March.
Remote work assigned to our Marketing and Social Media Associate will be assignments related to the social media and communications work most of which can be done in any location with internet access. Assignments include: writing/approving copy for social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Website), scheduling posts for social media, and working with our Branding & Communications Manager on various marketing campaigns.
Experience with social media tools such as Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Constant Contact, etc; ability to work individually and in a team; enthusiastic about the work they will participate in; experience with Adobe Suite and graphic design (Photoshop/Illustrator preferred).
