The curriculum upon which our programs are based is rooted in an empirically-based understanding of the transformative impact arts education can have for young people. The Curriculum Intern splits their time between doing research on new standards and tools that we are implementing into our curriculum and programs — including Teaching Tolerance’s Social Justice Standards, Social and Emotional Learning standards, and tenets of antiracism — and providing support to our programs and volunteer trainings.  This internship is focused around a project of research in service to curriculum creation. With the goal of making our programs more equitable and accessible for all students, staff will draw on the Intern's research on Social and Emotional Learning skills, arts education, and Social Justice Standards to support curriculum creation and training for volunteer mentors in our community (including supporting our team as they build out trainings and training materials).
