Margaret Griffith

About

Margaret Griffith investigates how a community visually defines itself by the boundaries it constructs through the metaphorical relationships of urbanism. Water- jet cut metal and hand-cut paper are formed into organic and twisted expressions of the urban landscape that investigate the ephemeral nature of permanent and functional structures. Griffith received her MFA from Cranbrook Academy of Art and a BFA from Maryland Institute College of Art in Maryland. She has exhibited work at Ruth Bachofner Gallery, Haus Gallery, New Media Gallery, Torrance Art Museum, Armory Center for the Arts and the Santa Monica Museum of Art.
