The Cultural Equity Intensive is a three-month cohort program for up to 8 nonprofit arts organizations. Designed to develop and enhance cultural equity and inclusion practices across all aspects of the participating organizations, the program will:

  • provide an in-depth assessment and planning process for the organization’s cultural equity effort
  • guide participants to create a comprehensive cultural equity and inclusion plan
  • guide participants to develop a presentation to communicate the plan to other board, staff members, and external stakeholders
  • include one-on-one coaching tailored to the organization’s needs
  • include the opportunity learn alongside other organizations
  • provide space for organizations interested in taking a leadership role in their communities to “think big” through the support of a learning community

The Commitment

Participants will need to commit a 2-3 person team including the Executive Director/CEO and at least one board member. They must attend three half day (1PM–5PM) sessions taking place on January 11, February 8, and March 15. All sessions will take place at the LA County Arts Commission. In addition, organizations should allocate time in between sessions to make use of one-on-one coaching in developing their plans.
