The Los Angeles County Arts Commission supports the arts sector in the County of Los Angeles through grants to nonprofit arts organizations and by providing professional development programs to both grantees and non-grantees of the Arts Commission.

The Arts Commission contracts approximately 200 arts organizations annually through the Organizational Grant Program (OGP) to provide arts services. Made possible through the generosity of the Board of Supervisors, grants for concerts, theatre and dance productions, exhibitions, in-school and out-of-school arts education and core operations help these organizations enrich the lives of County residents in large and small communities alike. The program provides support to ensure arts organizations are able to provide cultural services for the diverse population that comprises Los Angeles County.

OGP provides two-year grants to nonprofit arts organizations and applications are accepted annually between the months from October to November.

In 2016, the Los Angeles County Arts Commission announced $4,518,000 in two-year grants to 205 nonprofit arts organizations through its Organizational Grant Program (OGP). These services will positively impact residents, neighborhoods and communities by providing direct access and increased opportunities for quality arts activities and programming that is often free or low cost. Organizations are located throughout LA County with offices in 48 of the County’s 88 municipalities.

Grantee Feedback

“Our OGP grant helped provide the compensation for our first executive director. This was a big step in changing the organization from an all volunteer-led organization for over 33 years.” - Hollywood Arts Council
