Senior Program Associate, Arts and Culture

The Department of Arts and Culture has opened an Open Competitive exam for the classification of Senior Program Associate, Arts and Culture. A Senior Program Associate, Arts and Culture functions as a program lead or a project manager within a program division (e.g., Arts Education and Youth Development, Civic Art, Cross-Sector Initiatives, Grants and Professional Development, Research and Evaluation). Members of the public and current County employees can apply to this Open Competitive exam. Applicants that successfully meet the exam’s qualifications will be placed on a list of eligible candidates for a 12-month period, that the Department can use to fill future vacancies at the Senior Program Associate, Arts and Culture classification.   1. The application filing period for this exam will begin on Wednesday, March 20, 2024 at 12:30PM (PST) through 5PM (PST) on Friday, March 22, 2024.
  2. First-time applicants must create a user profile with a unique username and password in order to submit an online application. Information including Contact Information, Personal Information, Work Experience, Education, Additional Information (Certificates and Licenses, Skills, Language), and References can be updated as needed and in advance of the application filing period.
  3. Applicants should allow at least one (1) hour to complete the online application and supplemental questionnaire.

The Department of Arts and Culture is an agency of LA County local government and is subject to the Civil Service process. Civil Service Rules are, “prescribed for the purpose of carrying out the Charter provisions, of assuring the continuance of the merit system, of promoting efficiency in the dispatch of public business, and of assuring all employees in the classified service of fair and impartial treatment at all times subject to Merit System Standards and appeal rights as set forth in these Rules.”
