The Events & Outreach Intern will work with the Education Through Music-LA staff to assist with event and program/community outreach and support, create marketing collateral, and develop external partnerships to further the mission of ETM-LA. Additionally, the Events & Outreach Intern will create social media posts, assist with spotlight stories and obtain quotes/footage, and assist with program and development data evaluation/assessment to develop a deeper understanding of the data for marketing purposes. This position will work approximately 20-40 hours a week from June through February.
The intern should display an earnest interest in arts education and must be highly organized, detail-oriented, and dependable. Interest in the coordination of special events, community outreach, Communications/PR, writing, media/film, social media, Canva, & engaging with people is favorable for this position. Basic computer skills, such as Google Workspace, Word, and Excel, are necessary. Being an initiative taker and a team player with an interest in the field of education, a positive attitude, personal motivation, and a desire to learn about nonprofit organizations are also a must.
Education Through Music–Los Angeles (ETM-LA) is a non-profit whose mission is to provide and promote the integration of music into the curricula of under-resourced schools to enhance students' academic performance, and creative and general development. ETM-LA is dedicated to providing under-resourced LA County elementary and middle schools with quality, comprehensive, sequential, and standards-based music education as part of the core curriculum for every child.
