Background

Now in our 38th year, SINERGIA is a non-profit theater company serving the immigrant, Latinx population in Los Angeles. We produce plays in Spanish and English, focusing on thought-provoking issues directly impacting the community. Located in the Westlake District, near downtown, our audiences come from all over L.A. County. In addition to staging 5-7 mainstage plays per year, we host the 10 Minute Theater Festival, which gives emerging artists a chance to hone their skills and perform for a live audience. This year, we’ll also host a separate 10 Minute Theater Festival for students ages 15-18. Our Staged Reading Series presents 12 new plays per year, with the most popular one receiving a full production. SINERGIA also serves as a home for itinerant Latinx theater companies. We also offer year-round arts classes for youth and adults.  Our programs, as well as our classes, are open to everyone, and are either free or low-cost, so as to be as inclusive as possible.
